Senior centerfielder Amanda Koldjeski (Clarks
Summit, PA) finished the final week of the 2001 regular season as
the MAAC Softball Player of the Week. Koldjeski earns the honor
for the first time this season as the Marist Red Foxes prepare
for their first trip to the MAAC Softball Tournament this
weekend.
Koldjeski closed the week with a .545 batting average going
6-for-11 at the plate. The power hitter drove in five runs over
three games for the Red Foxes. In MAAC action she was 4-for-8
(.500) notching her 13th and 14th homeruns of the season and
tallying three runs scored sweep first place St. Peter's and
clinch a berth to the 2001 MAAC Tournament.
Koldjeski and the Red Foxes will face number three seeded
Fairfield University Friday, May 11th at 12:00 noon on Gartland
Athletic Field. Marist will face either Canisius College or St.
Peter's College at 2:00 p.m. in the double elimination
tournament.
