Red Foxes Women's Soccer Picked 7th in MAAC Preseason Poll

Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College women's soccer team was selected to finish seventh-place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), as selected by the league's 10 head coaches.

Loyola and Fairfield were chosen as league favorites finishing with 99 and 91 points respectively. Siena College was picked third with 72 points. Rider University was fourth with 65, followed closely behind by Niagara University (63). Manhattan College placed sixth (50) followed by Marist College (38), Canisius College (30), Iona (29), and Saint Peter's College (13).

Sheri Huckleberry begins her first season at the helm of the Red Foxes and is looking to return Marist to the top of the MAAC after a difficult 2002 season. The Red Foxes won their first-ever Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Regular Season title in 2001, winning a program best eight games in league play, and for the first time, advanced to the MAAC Tournament Final.

The Red Foxes will open the season on Friday, August 29th at home against Hofstra at 3:30pm on Leondiff Field. Marist then travels to Central Connecticut State University to take on the Blue Devils on September 3rd.
