New Rochelle, NY -- The Marist College men's crew team captured its fourth consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Title this afternoon, sweeping the six events in which it entered. The Red Foxes have won seven of eight titles since beginning competition in the MAAC, finishing second in the 2000 championship.
Marist totaled 150 points, well ahead of Iona College, the runner-up, which scored 59 points. Fairfield placed third with 31 points, followed by Loyola, with 25.5 points and Manhattan, which scored four points.
The Red Foxes were perfect for the second MAAC Championship in a row. Marist entered and won the Varsity 4, the Novice 4 and the JV 4. The Red Foxes also swept through the 8s, winning the Varsity, Novice and JV 8 races.
Marist has won the 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 MAAC titles.
