BOSTON, MASS. - On a day with pouring rain, the Marist men's cross country team finished 16th out of 36 teams at the NCAA Northeast Regional, held at Franklin Park in Boston Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Matthew Flint (Queensbury, N.Y.) was the Red Foxes' top finisher in the 10K race, finishing 61st in a time of 33:09.
Adam Vess (Cromwell, Conn.) finished one second behind Flint and placed 64th overall. Timothy Keegan (Huntington, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring pack for Marist, finishing in 117th place with a time of 34:13.
The Red Foxes finished the meet with 462 points, 20 points better than 17th place Army. Syracuse won the meet with 55 points, with Iona second with 59 points and Providence third with 78 points.
Marist will wrap up the 2009 season at the IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Nov. 21.
