POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Marist football team held its first intrasquad scrimmage of this year's camp through a steady rain on the morning of Aug. 22. It was the only on-field activity for the Red Foxes on the day, who will have a double session on Sunday.
The defense had a strong session, forcing a total turnovers. Head Coach Jim Parady lauded the play of the defense and was also pleased with the kicking game.
"I felt the defense played very well in the scrimmage overall; they played fast and physical throughout the day," Parady said. "Offensively, we had too many turnovers ... we need to do a better job of protecting the football. I thought our kicking game was very solid for the conditions, and I was very pleased with all of our kickers today. They did an excellent job."
The scrimmage marked the last appearance for the Red Foxes at North Field, as the team's camp now heads to the south end of campus and Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field. The Red Foxes will go from 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 7-9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
