POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Red Foxes head out on the road again, this time they face the St. John's Red Storm of the Big East who stand at 2-1 on the young season.
This is a return trip for the Red Foxes who last year fell to the Red Storm in McCann Arena, 49-48, after a hail mary play and last second layup from
Sydney Coffey drew iron and stayed out. St. John's holds a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series against Marist. The Red Foxes look to avoid starting the season 0-4 after they fell to Delaware in their previous outing, 56-60.
SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S
St. John's improved to 2-1 overall after a 69-62 win over Rutgers, Thursday night. Jade Walker continued to her hot streak to start the 2015-16 season, tallying her third-straight game in double figures with a career-high 20 points on a nine-for-11 shooting effort from the floor.
The junior from Maplewood, N.J., has now converted on 75 percent of her tries from the field this year (21-28). Walker also added six boards against the Scarlet Knights. Danaejah Grant picked up her first double-double of the season, pouring in 16 points and grabbing 11 boards. The senior guard also tallied a career-high four steals
