About the Award

Marist's Sportsperson of the Year Award has been given annually since 1969, the longest standing award in the history of the Athletics Department. From 1969-84, the award was given to the top individual in the class as a result of an outstanding career in his/her sport. Since 1985, the Sportsperson of the Year Award has been given to the top male and female student-athlete(s) in the class based on outstanding achievement in their sports.
