POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's basketball team officially kicked-off its 2017-18 season as the team held practice Sunday at McCann Arena. The first practices start a stretch of 30 practice days used to prepare for the 2017-18 regular season.

The Red Foxes return 10 players from last season and welcome in three freshmen. Three returners will see their first ever action on the court for Marist as Molly Smith, Grace Vander Weide, and Alana Gilmer sat last season.

The Red Foxes upperclass returners are highlighted by redshirt junior Allie Clement, who returns from a season long injury, senior Kendall Baab, and juniors Maura Fitzpatrick and Lovisa Henningsdottir.

Sophomore's Rebekah Hand, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, and Hannah Hand will look to improve on their stellar freshman campaigns.

Marist's newcomers include guard Allie Best along with forwards Willow Duffell and Gabi Redden. Junior guard Claire Oberdorf will sit out the season.

The Red Foxes open their season with two straight home non-conference games against Navy on Friday, November 10^th and then Holy Cross on Tuesday, November 14^th.

Red Fox Club season tickets are on sale for the 2017-18 season. New memberships are available for purchase, and the renewal deadline for current ticket holders is Monday, Oct. 2. For more information, please click here.
