EDISON, New Jersey – Marist women's swimming and diving senior co-captain Shannon Gordon was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's Student-Athlete of the Week the conference announced on Tuesday.

Gordon is a Business Administration/Marketing major, a two year member of the MAAC All-Academic Team and has qualified for the Dean's List five times at Marist. Gordon has also been a member of the college's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the past several years and in April 2016, attended the MAAC SAAC Conference in New York City. Gordon currently serves as President of SAAC for the 2017-18 school year. 
 
In the pool this season, she has earned a second and third place finish in the 1,000 freestyle, a second place finish in the 400 freestyle relay and two third place finishes in the 500 freestyle. 
 
The women's swimming and diving team currently stands at 2-2 (2-1 MAAC) and are coming off a 152.5-135.5 loss to the Farifield Stags at McCann Natatorium on Satuday afternoon.
