EDISON, New Jersey – Marist men's soccer sophomore forward David Nkansah-Siriboe was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week the conference announced on Monday.

Nkansah-Siriboe tallied two goals, four shots and two shots on goal in a 3-2 comeback win vs the Albany Great Danes on Friday. He scored the Red Foxes' first goal in the 65 minute to bring the score to 2-1 and then the game winner in the 82^nd minute to seal the victory.

In Marist's season opener, the Great Danes opened the scoring with goals at the 15 and 50 minute marks, before the Red Foxes scored three in a row from Nkansah-Siriboe, freshman Allen Gavilanes (his first career goal) and Nkansah-Siriboe again. Marist opened the scoring when a corner kick by Gavilanes was passed to junior Juan Parada on the right corner of the box who crossed the ball to the back post and onto the head of Nkansah-Siriboe who put it home. Gavilanes then tied it up 10 minutes later when a ball from sophomore Ernest Mitchell found the feet of junior Bruce Jeter who laid it back for Gavilanes who ripped a shot from the top of the box into the bottom left corner. Nkansah-Siriboe then scored the game winner with an absolute rocket of a shot from the right side of the box off a pass from Gavilanes in the 82nd minute.

The Red Foxes (1-0-0) return to action on Tuesday when they begin a season long six game road trip at the Hartwick Hawks at 7 PM. Last season, Marist beat the Hawks 3-1 at Tenney Stadium for its first win of the 2016 season.
