Willie Barrett of the Marist football team was named Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday.
Barrett helped lead a strong defensive performance for the Red Foxes in their 14-12 victory at Georgetown on Saturday. He finished with two sacks and two-and-a-half tackles for loss among his six stops (five solo), and also contributed a pass break-up. Both of his sacks occurred in the fourth quarter. Barrett contributed two tackles and a pass break-up on Georgetown's final drive in the game's final minute.
