KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The Marist men's soccer team was ranked fourth in the Northeast Region in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's Poll released September 5th.
The ranking marks the second consecutive week the Red Foxes were featured in the poll, coming in at #2 in the August 29
th edition.
Marist appeared in the organization's regional poll each week minus the opening week in 2016, coming in as high as second in the Northeast Region on Sept. 27. The group was formerly known as the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America and changed its name earlier this month.
The Red Foxes went 1-1 into two games last week, coming from behind with two second half goals to beat the Hartwick Hawks 2-1 on Aug. 29
th, before suffering their first loss of 2017 to the Hartford Hawks on Saturday 1-0.
Marist returns to action and continues its road trip on Thursday, Sept. 7
th as they face off against the American Eagles in Washington D.C. at 4 PM. The Eagles stand at 1-3 this season and are coming off an 11-5-5 season in 2016, during which they made it to the Patriot League Championship but lost to the Colgate Red Raiders 5-4 in penalty kicks.
