Willow Duffell has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday. She takes home the honor for first time in her career.
Duffell averaged nine points and six rebounds per game to go along with two steals and 1.5 blocks per contest in a two game week for the Red Foxes. Duffell has been a defensive anchor for the Red Foxes so far this season starting in 13 of the Red Foxes 19 games this season, including the last 10 consecutive.
In the Red Foxes first game of the week, Duffell scored 13 points, pulled down nine rebounds, had two blocks and two steals in 28 minutes of action on the road against Siena. During the second game of the week, Duffell scored five points along with three rebounds, a block and two steals as the Red Foxes pulled off a come-from-behind win over Rider.
The Red Foxes head out on the road Tuesday, January 23
rd to take on Saint Peter's in a makeup game previously postponed due to snow. After that the team will make its annual Buffalo trip and take on Niagara and Canisius on Friday and Sunday.
