POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Junior guard
David Knudsen of the Marist men's basketball team has been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Male Student-Athlete of the Week.
A native of Copenhagen, Denmark, Knudsen is a Business Administration major with an International Business concentration and Communication minor.
Knudsen is the Red Foxes' second-leading scorer at 11.8 points per game while shooting .463 from the field, .357 from three-point range, and .933 from the free-throw line. In Marist's most recent game against Manhattan on Jan. 2, he set a career high with 28 points. In the Red Foxes' prior contest, he established career highs of seven free throws made and five steals in Marist's MAAC-opening win against Siena on Dec. 29. He also scored 19 points came against nationally-ranked West Virginia in the first game of the AdvoCare Invitational on Nov. 23.
Marist will return to action on Sunday, Jan. 7, when the Red Foxes host Niagara at McCann Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at MaristTickets.com.
