Edison, NJ---The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) office named the New York Lottery MAAC Indoor Track All-Academic Team, it was announced this afternoon. To receive accolades, honorees must be in their second year of residence at the collegiate institution, and have a grade point average of at least 3.200.
On the women's team were Susan Golden (Vernon, CT), Liza Grudzinski (Branford, CT), and Jennifer Stewart (Newburgh, NY). Golden claimed the MAAC Championship title in the 800-meter run and was second in the mile run. Grudzinski placed second in the 5,000-meter run, and was on the winning distance medley relay. Stewart placed sixth in both the long jump and triple jump events. Also named were Leanne Bolingbroke (Woodbury, CT), Karen Decina (Holmdel, NJ), Jen Klier (Williamsville, NY), Clare Knapp (Poughkeepsie, NY), Grace LeFemina (Blue Point, NY), Kristina Rhorer (Gales Ferry, CT), and Jen Rosenblatt (Naugatuck, CT).
The women's team returns to action March 2nd-3rd, as they compete in the ECAC Championships held in Boston, Mass.
