Sports Medicine Philosophy at Marist
 


The sports medicine departments goal is to provide the highest quality of health care and maintain a safe environment for Marist student-athletes to perform at the highest level and address any athletically related injury to return the student-athlete to full team participation as soon as possible. The sports medicine staff is comprised of certified, licensed athletic trainers who work closely with team physicians and other health care professionals in the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions.
 
During the academic school year, the Athletic Training Facility is open daily from 9:00am through 5:00pm, however these times may vary based on the days’ events and coverage required. Weekends will vary depending on practice and game schedules, so please feel free to call 845-575-3000 x2030 for more detailed information regarding open hours.

Glenn Marinelli began his tenure as Marist's Coordinator of Sports Medicine in 1981. He also served as Assistant Director of the Physical Education Program at Marist, as well as being an adjunct professor in the Athletic Training Program. During his 32 years of service to the Marist community, Glenn impacted the lives of countless student-athletes, coaches and staff members who cherished his sense of humor and fun-loving attitude.

Glenn passed away on May 30, 2014, surrounded by loving family and friends, after a long and courageous fight against cancer. He was 56 years old.
