Final Stats
New York, NY---The Marist College women's track and field team competed in the Metropolitan Championships this past weekend, at the New York City Armory in Manhattan, NY. Freshman Alison Keller (Cheshire, CT) and junior Susan Golden (Vernon, CT) led the Red Foxes with their record-breaking performances yesterday afternoon.
Keller broke her own 60-meter hurdle record with a time of 9.22, while Golden broke her 1000-meter record with a time of 2:57.97. Sophomores Nicole Thompson (Kings Park, NY), Marissa Artiano (Palos Ranchos Verdes, CA), and junior Clare Knapp (Poughkeepsie, NY) were impressive in their respective sprint events. Thompson posted a personal best time of 1:21.35 in the 500-meters, Artiano ran a sold 8.47 in the 60-meter dash and set a personal best of 27.23 in the 200-meters, and Knapp set a personal best in the 500-meters (1:22.37). In addition, junior Jen Klier (Williamsville, NY) set a personal best in the mile with a 5:29.11.
In relay highlights, juniors Grace LaFemina (Bluepoint, NY) and Christina Norman (Massapequa Park, NY) ran 4x800 legs of 2:25.8 and 2:27.1, respectively, and sophomore Jenn Rosenblatt (Naugatuck, CT) posted a personal best 1600 (5:10.7) in the distance medley relay.
The Red Foxes return to action on to action on Saturday, February 9, at the St. Valentine Invitational held at Boston University.
