Edison, NJ---The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) office named the Outdoor MAAC Indoor Track All-Academic Team, it was announced this afternoon. The Red Foxes had 10 men and 10 women make the team. To receive accolades, honorees must be in their second year of residence at the collegiate institution, and have a grade point average of at least 3.200.
Headlining the men's team this year was Eli Bisnett-Cobb (Ballston Spa, NY). Bisnett-Cobb tied for first place in the high jump and also finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at the Outdoor MAAC Championships this past weekend. Also rounding out the 2002 MAAC All-Academic Team were Richard Ambrosio (Medford, NY), Patrick Brodfuehrer (Syracuse, NY), Kirk Dornton (Syracuse, NY), Teddy Ebberts (Ogdensburg, NY), Jason Grady (Clinton Corners, NY), Gilby Hawkins (Leonia, NJ), Rob McGuinness (Middletown, CT), Michael Nehr (West Babylon, NY) and Charles Williams (Commack, NY).
On the women's team were Susan Golden (Vernon, CT), Liza Grudzinski (Branford, CT), and Jenn Rosenblatt (Naugatuck, CT). Golden claimed the Outdoor MAAC Championship title in the 800-meter run and was second in the 1500-meters, where she set a new school record. Grudzinski won the 10,000-meter run, while Rosenblatt claimed the winning crown in the 5,000 meters. Also named were Leanne Bolingbroke (Woodbury, CT), Karen Decina (Holmdel, NJ), Jen Klier (Williamsville, NY), Clare Knapp (Poughkeepsie, NY), Grace LaFemina (Blue Point, NY), Krissy Rhorer (Gales Ferry, CT), and Jen Stewart (Newburgh, NY).
The men's and women's teams return to action on Friday, May 10th, where they will be competing at the Albany Spring Classic, at the University of Albany.
