Brooklyn Heights, NY - The Marist College water polo team fell to No. 17 Hartwick 16-4, while rolling to a 15-4 win over Utica on Saturday at St. Francis College (NY). The Red Foxes are now 4-10 on the season, and match their season win total from last year.
Against Hartwick, the Red Foxes fell behind 10-2 after the first quarter of play. The Hawks would add two more goals to make it 12-2 at the half and never looked back for the win. Carolyn Rosler (Blue Bell, PA), Kelly Naughton (Harrisville, RI), Joelle Evanousky (Barnesville, PA), and Alyson Fiorillo (Pottsville, PA) scored for Marist.
In the win over Utica, the Red Foxes jumped out to an 8-1 lead at the half, and increased the lead to 12-1 after three quarters of play to win easily. Jennifer Meyer (Fairport, NY) led the attack with three goals, while Fiorillo, Jennifer Gelsomino (Harrison, NY), Maura McCabe (Colts Neck, NJ), and Evanousky each scored twice.
The Red Foxes return to action on Sunday, March 30th, when they travel to Staten Island, NY to take on MAAC Water Polo League opponent Wagner at 1:00 p.m.
