Edison, NJ-The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced the 2003 women's outdoor track All-Academic Team this afternoon. The Red Foxes led all opponents in the conference with 11 women named to the team. To receive accolades, honorees must be in their second year of residence at the collegiate institution, and have a grade point average of at least 3.20.
Named to the team was senior Susan Golden (Vernon, Conn.) who placed first in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:17.01 at the Yale Invitational held last weekend. Also being named to the team is Liza Grudzinski (Branford, Conn.), who recently broke the school record in the 10K at the Penn Relays, finishing 21st overall.
Rounding out the All-Academic Team are senior Jen Klier (Buffalo, NY), senior Grace LaFemina (Sayville, NY), senior Clare Knapp (Poughkeepsie, NY), senior Christina Norman (Massapequa Park, NY), senior Krissy Rhorer (Gales Ferry, Conn.), junior Jenn Rosenblatt (Naugatuck, Conn.), sophomore Alison Keller (Cheshire, Conn.), sophomore Becky Faucher (New Hartford, Conn.), and junior Cheryl Norris (Schenectady, NY).
The women return to action Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4th, when they compete in the MAAC Championships held on the campus of Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.
