Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Marist women's track and field head coach Phil Kelly is proud to announce the signing of Megan Flaherty to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Red Foxes starting in 2005-06. Flaherty is a hurdler and high jumper who will also compete in sprint relays.
Flaherty, a native of Oceanside, N.Y., who will graduate from Oceanside High School this spring, is a sub-15 second 100-meter hurdler and a sub-4.8 second 55-meter hurdler. Her personal best in the high jump is 5'3".
Coach Kelly says: "Megan is an excellent hurdler and high jumper and will be a valuable sprint relay runner. In addition to her athletic prowess, Megan is an exceptional student."
The Red Foxes open the 2005 indoor season at the Fordham Invitational on January 7.
