Utica, NY-- The Marist College water polo team defeated Utica College 13-1, in their first game of the CWPA Northeastern Championships. The Red Foxes scored big with four goals in the first quarter followed by five in the second en route to victory.
Junior Carolyn Rosler led the way netting three goals for the Red Foxes. Senior Alyson Fiorillo played very well for the Red Foxes scoring two goals and picking up five steals Joelle Evanousky, Ashley Woerner and Susan Grant chipped in with two goals each.
Sophomore Amanda Long. Long had a solid game making 10 saves and a steal, while also helping on the offensive end with two assists.
The lone Utica goal came at the 5:12 in the third quarter by Sarah Detwiler scored after connecting with Alicia Ventresca.
The Red Foxes are currently underway against Harvard in game two of the CWPA Northeastern Championships.
