Worcester, MA- The Marist College men's crew team had a solid first day picking up three third place finishes at the ECAC National Invitational Rowing Championships held on Lake Quinsigamond.
In the men's varsity eight, the Red Foxes finished in a time of 6:18.890 less than a second behind Williams College (6:17.446). The University of North Carolina took the top spot in a time of 6:17.022. Marist finished ahead of boats from Colgate and UNH.
The men's novice eight took third in the third heat clocking a time of 6:50.100. Michigan won the heat in a time of 6:40.857, while Orange Coast placed second in 6:41.84. Marist finished ahead of boats from Ithaca and Michigan State.
In men's varsity four, the Red Foxes placed third with a time of 7:08.973, after being edged by Virginia Tech (7:08.57). Michigan placed first in the heat in a time of 7:04.419. Marist finished ahead of boats from Clark University and Williams.
All Marist boats qualified for the semifinals and will compete tomorrow on the final day of the regatta.
