Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - The Marist women's outdoor track and field team had 12 student-athletes named to the MAAC All-Academic Team, the conference office announced this weekend. To be eligible, a student-athlete must complete two semesters and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
Co-captain Alison Keller was Marist's lone senior named to the squad. The Cheshire, Conn. native is a Fashion Merchandising major with a 3.52 GPA.
Juniors honored were Andrea DiTrani (3.76, Athletic Training), Mackenzie Klump (3.53, Fine Arts/Studio), Lauren LeMoine (3.32, Psychology), Donna Stallman (3.62, Communications), Denise Tumulty (3.74, BA/Marketing) and Kristine Williams (3.40, Communications).
Five sophomores were named to the team in their first years of eligibility: Catie Fargione (3.29, BA/Marketing), Carrie Hammell (3.86, Psychology), 400-meter hurdles gold medalist Christine McDevitt (3.37, Communications), Bernice Patten (3.38, Psychology/Special Ed.) and Megan Schlittler (3.61, Communications).
The Red Foxes placed third of six teams at the MAAC Outdoor Championships this weekend at Rider.
