June 20, 2005

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-Geoff Decker and Kristin Keller were named the Marist representatives for the 2004-05 ECAC Robbins Scholar- Athlete Award, as announced today by ECAC officials.

Decker helped the distance medley relay squad set the indoor school record (10:06.33) at IC4A Championships. He was also part of the historic 4x800 relay team at Marist's first Millrose Games appearance this past season. The Delmar, N.Y. native also posted a fifth-place finish in the 3000 meters at the MAAC Indoor Championships, in addition to being a three-time member of the MAAC All-Academic Team.

Keller, a Poughkeepsie, N.Y. native, earned countless awards during her senior campaign, among them Marist female Sportsperson of the Year, First Team All-MAAC, MAAC All-Tournament Team and Fidelis Care Humanitarian of the Year. She was also named to the Second Team All-Met and was a two-time MAAC Player of the Week. Excelling in the classroom as well, Keller was a three time MAAC All-Academic team selection and was named to the Academic All-America District I Second Team this year.

Keller finished her career this season ranking in the school's top 10 in games played (first, 117), blocked shots (third, 94), rebounds (ninth, 591), free throws made (ninth, 219) and field goals made (10th, 370). Keller helped power the Red Foxes to a school record 22 wins this season, after being instrumental in Marist's MAAC Championship run as a junior. She played her high school ball at nearby Our Lady of Lourdes, a national powerhouse on the high school level, gaining second team all-state honors under current Marist head coach Brian Giorgis.

Sponsored by Robbins Sports Surfaces, the Cincinnati-based sports surfaces company, the awards honor the outstanding academic and athletics achievements of student-athletes representing ECAC schools in Divisions I, II and III. One male and one female athlete from each division have been selected by their institutions. Three committees comprised of athletics administrators will select two award winners in each division to be honored during the ECAC Convention Honors Dinner presented by Jostens on Sunday, September 25. Votes are based on extraordinary achievements in academics, athletics and community service.
