BOSTON, Mass. --This weekend, the Marist men's and women's crew program sent two boats to the Head Of The Charles Regatta in Boston. The men competed in the Championship Eights and the women competed in the Club Eights.
In the women's Club Eights, the Red Foxes placed tenth with a time of 17:54.093. There were 51 boats in the race. A team from the University of Tennessee won the event with a time 17:16.740. Marist finished ahead of schools like Holy Cross, Trinity, and Manhattan.
In the men's Championship Eights the Red Foxes finished 35th. Some of the other boats in the Championship Eights were two squads from the United States National Team, Yale (last years NCAA Champion), Princeton, Harvard, University of Wisconsin and Iowa. One of the US National Rowing Team's boats won the event with a time of 14:03.711.
The Head Of The Charles Regatta is known as the largest regatta in the world. Colleges, Universities, Clubs, National Team, and amateurs come from all over the world to compete in the two day event.
