LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Junior Laura Reilly (Pearl River, N.Y.) of the Marist women's track and field team placed third in the steeplechase at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships on Saturday, setting a school record. Sophomore Nicole Madar (Shelton, Conn.) placed sixth overall in the javelin and achieved a PR as well.
Also at the MAAC championships, Freshman Nick Webster (Latham, N.Y.) became the third member of the men's track and field team to qualify for junior nationals by virtue of his performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Webster placed third overall in the event.
Classmates Adam Vess (Cromwell, Conn.) and Timothy Keegan (Huntington, N.Y.) had previously qualified for junior nationals in the 5K and 10K, respectively. The junior nationals are set for June 20-22 in Columbus, Ohio.
Keegan ran in the 10K at the MAAC championships on Saturday and placed sixth overall, setting a new PR. Junior Alex Emerel (Holmdel, N.J.) and freshman Patrick Duggan (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) also ran PRs in the 10K.
The MAAC championships will conclude on Sunday.
