BETHLEHEM, PA. - The Marist men's swimming and diving team continued to struggle on Saturday as it fell at Lehigh 156-87. Despite the loss junior Brian Bolstad (Highland, N.Y.) and sophomore Kevin Shoemaker (Saucon Valley, Pa.) notched wins in three events to help the Red Foxes.
Four-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Diver of the Week, Bolstad swept both the 1- and 3-meter boards. He totaled 299.62 points off the lower board, and 293.25 points in the 3-meter dive. Senior Mitchell Katz (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) took second in both events.
Shoemaker won the 200-yd. butterfly with a time of 1:56.16. He also took second in the 200-yd. individual medley. He touched the wall with a time of 1:59.09.
The Red Foxes have lost five consecutive matches and now stand 2-6 overall on the 2009-10 season.
Marist will return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 16 when it takes on Southern Connecticut State. The first event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
