In the top of the sixth, Gauck's solo homer put Marist up 4-3. The Red Foxes then added a run in the eighth when Gauck scored on a balk, and another in the ninth when Shank drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 6-3.

However, Rider came back to score three runs in the bottom of the ninth, and then pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to earn the 7-6 victory. Shortstop John Ralston's single drove home first baseman Mason Heyne with the game-winning run to give the Broncs the victory.

Rider closer Tyler Smith pitched the final 2.1 innings to get the victory, as he improved to 5-3. Freshman right-hander Kyle Putnam (New Windsor, N.Y.) started and took a no-decision, allowing seven hits, three runs and one walk in six innings while striking out seven.

In the second game, Rider scored in every inning, with two in the first, one in the second, two in the third, four in the fourth, nine in the fifth and four in the sixth.
