EDISON, N.J. - Freshman goalie Alexis Solaro (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) was named MAAC Rookie of the Week on Tuesday . Against Hartwick on April 20 and Villanova and St. Francis on April 23, Solaro played a key role in leading the Red Foxes to a 2-1 record. In the three games, she recorded 35 saves and had a .522 save percentage. She also made two steals during her week of contests. In Marist's final regular season game against St. Francis, Solaro had a great performance as she made 11 saves, one steal and held the Terriers scoreless in the third period and to just nine goals in the contest.

On the season, Solaro has recorded 283 saves, which is more than any other goalie in the conference.

This is the third time this season Solaro has been honored in the MAAC weekly awards. She was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on March 22 and MAAC Rookie of the Week on April 5. The Red Foxes have won a total of four awards this season with junior Kelly Kline (Reading, Pa.) earning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on April 5.

The Red Foxes will next be in action this weekend as they host the MAAC Championship Tournament. Marist enters the tournament as the #2 seed and will open play against 3rd seeded Wagner. The match will begin at 3:00 pm.
