WORCESTER, Mass. – The Marist men's crew team opened its spring season on Saturday with a three-race meet against Holy Cross on Lake Quinsigamond.

The Marist Varsity Eight boat was the highlight of the day, winning its 2,000-meter race by just 1.1 seconds, finishing in a time of 5:51.3.

The Red Foxes' Second Varsity Eight boat had an even tighter race, finishing just seven tenths of a second behind the Holy Cross boat.

Marist returns to the water on Saturday, April 6 when both the men's and women's programs will be in Storrs, Conn. to take on the host Huskies as well as Trinity and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. The women will also be racing against Colgate.
