BRONX, New York -- The Marist Men's Cross Country team placed third at the season ending IC4A Championships on Saturday, Nov. 21st at Van Cortlandt Park. The result is the second straight top three finish for the Red Foxes in the event, who finished second in 2014.
Spencer Johnson led the way for Marist with a final time of 26:19.4, good for 18th place overall. With the result, Johnson moved up to 36th all-time in school history on the all-time Van Cortlandt Park/Marist list (the cutoff is 26:30). Up next for the Red Foxes was Dietrich Mosel with a final time of 26:23.2. which placed him 21st overall. Mosel became the 41st runner in school history to break 26:30 at the park. Brian Edsall finished third with a final time of 26:31.2 and a 24th place finish. All three were named to the IC4A All East Team.
“The men continued to overachieve and be better with each and every championship, and today's race put a cap on a truly memorable season" said Director of Cross Country Pete Colaizzo.
