STATEN ISLAND, New York -- Junior Molly Weeks, sophomore Danisha Craig, freshman Debbie Boerke and freshman Candhace Forest broke a school record by nearly five seconds in the 800 meter relay on Friday at the STAC Invitational, finishing with an overall time of 1:45.88. The Red Foxes placed fourth out of 20 teams with 82 points.
A second highlight on the afternoon included a first place finish by freshmen Shea Bohan, Kerry Gaye, Jordan Casey and Alyssa Hurlbut in the 3200 meter relay with an overall time of 9:58.71.
Sophomore Mara Schiffhauer and Elizabeth Wasserman earned first place finishes in the 3,000 meter run and mile run with overall times of 10:19.61 and 5:20.87 respectively, sophomore Christine Gambell saw a personal best in the 800 meters with a final time of 2:29.08 and sophomore Fallon Quigley was runner-up in the high jump.
Up next for Marist is a return trip to the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Athletic Complex in Staten Island for the Gotham Cup on Friday.
