Bronx, New York -- The Marist men's cross country team picked up its finished the 2016 season with a fourth place finish out of 20 teams at the IC4A Championship held at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday. The Red Foxes finished with with 112 points, just off third place Rutgers with 91 points.
"The men raced at a consistently strong level all fall" said Director of Cross Country and Track Pete Colaizzo. "Whenever we needed a runner to step up and fill a gap, someone was always there. Good, solid season."
As he has done all season, Matt Baffuto was the team's top overall finisher, earning IC4A All-East honors with his 7th place time of 26:04. His time was also the 20th fastest time in program history at Van Cortlandt Park. Spencer Johnson and Dietrich Mosel also earned IC4A All-East honors with their 12th and 23rd place times of 26:10 and 26:40 respectively. Jonson's 26:10 was the 24th fastest time at the venue in program history. Saad Baig finished in 28th place with a time of 26:46 AND Michael Kennedy finished in 45th place with a time of 27:07 to round out the top five.
Up next, the Red Foxes will begin preparations for the indoor track season which begins in December.
