Murray Serving On FCS Selection Committee

Marist AD In First Year Of Four-Year Term

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Director of Athletics Tim Murray is in his first year as a member of the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee.
 
Murray's term on the committee began on Sept. 1, and lasts until Aug. 31, 2021. This week, he will be at NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis helping put together the 24-team field and pairings for the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. The field and match-ups will be announced on Sunday in a selection show on ESPNU that will air at 11 a.m.
 
The 10-person committee has one representative from each Football Championship Subdivision conference that has an automatic bid to the playoffs. Murray represents the Pioneer Football League, which Marist has competed in since 2009 and has had an automatic bid since 2013.
 
In-season committee work has included regional and national conference calls and voting on a weekly basis.
 
The FCS playoffs begin on Saturday, Nov. 25 and culminate with the championship game on Saturday, Jan. 6 in Frisco, Texas.
 
Murray began his tenure as Marist's Director of Athletics on Feb. 17, 1995. He also serves as chair of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Committee, and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Awards Committee. Under his leadership, Marist has captured a conference-record 12 overall Commissioner's Cups, and became the first school in MAAC history to win 100 conference championships. Marist has currently won 111 MAAC championships.
