POUGHKEEPSIE, New York -- The Marist water polo team and second year head coach Chris Vidale have announced the team's 2018 schedule.

The Red Foxes will play in six tournaments in Hawaii, Michigan, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York and Indiana before opening Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play, against opponents that include three 2017 NCAA Tournament participants (Cal, UCLA & Michigan) and the '17 National Runner Up (UCLA). The team will then wrap up its non-conference schedule with a trip to California, before finishing up their conference slate.

Marist opens the season on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Rainbow Invite, hosted by the University of Hawaii in Manoa, HI, against Loyola Marymount University and the University of California Berkley and then square off against host Hawaii on Jan 21 to finish up the tournament. The Red Foxes are back in action the following weekend at the University of Michigan in the Michigan Invite where they will play UCLA and Hartwick on Jan 27 and host Michigan on Jan 28. 

The month of February sees Marist head to Providence, RI and the Brown Bruno Classic where they will play Harvard and host Brown on Feb 3. After a week off from competition, the Red Foxes then head to Princeton University for the Princeton Invitational on Feb. 17 to square off against two teams to be determined before returning to Poughkeepsie for the Marist Invitational on Feb. 25 when they host Brown and Hartwick at McCann Natatorium. 

Marist opens March with a trip to Bloomington, IN for the Indiana Classic with matchups against Santa Clara and Washington and Jefferson (3/3) and host Indiana along with Hartwick (3/4). One week later, the Red Foxes open MAAC play at Siena College in Loudonville, NY when they play Iona and St. Francis (3/10), Siena and La Salle (3/11). During the college's Spring Break, Marist heads out to California to wrap up its non-conference schedule when they play Whittier College (3/15) and four teams to be determined at the LMU Invitational (3/16-3/17). The Red Foxes then return to the East Coast for MAAC play at Iona College when they square off against VMI and Wagner (3/24) and Villanova (3/25). 

The month of April begins with an off week for Marist, before the Red Foxes host conference play at McCann Natatorium and face off against La Salle and Iona (4/7) along with St. Francis and Siena (4/8). Marist then concludes the 2018 season with matchups against Villanova and VMI (4/14) at Villanova and Wagner (4/15) at La Salle. The 2018 MAAC Championships will be held from April 28th-29th at McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, NY.
