FISHKILL, New York -- The Marist baseball team picked up its first win in the Hudson Valley Baseball Classic since 2015, defeating the Army West Point Black Knights 15-7 at Dutchess Stadium on Thursday evening.

The Red Foxes erased a 7-1 deficit in the fourth and fifth inning and scoring 15 unanswered runs to extend their 2018 non-conference win streak to five games.

In the first inning, Army West Point got off to a fast start. Jon Rosoff doubled down the left field line to drive in Josh White. John McKenna then grounded out to shortstop, but Anthony Giachin came in to score. Matt Hudgins followed with a long homer to right field to cap the four-run first inning.

Marist got on the board in the bottom of the second.
Randy Taveras led off with a double down the left field line, followed by a
Chris Tracz double to left that allowed Taveras to advance to third.
Reece Armitage then grounded out to first, allowing Taveras to score.

The Black Knights added three runs in the top of the third. Giachin led off with a walk and advanced to third on a wild pitch. He scored on a single by McKenna. After a walk to Matt Hudgins, Trey Martin doubled to score both runners. Army West Point led 7-1.

The Red Foxes scored five runs in the third.
Frankie Gregoire,
Chris Tracz,
Reece Armitage,
Jordan Roper, and
Andrew Rouse all had RBI hits that trimmed the deficit to 7-6.

Marist would add four more in the fourth. With the bases loaded, Tracz got an RBI hit-by-pitch that tied the game, Armitage had an RBI walk to take the lead, Roper had an RBI groundout to short, and Pat Lightner singled to give the Red Foxes a 10-7 lead.

The Foxes would add five more in the eighth. Armitage and Rouse had back-to-back RBI doubles, Rouse came in to score on a wild pitch, and Taveras singled to drive in
Tyler Kapuscinski.
