LATHAM, New York – The women's cross country team blew away the competition at the Siena Cross Country Invitational, with their top five placing 3-4-5-6-8 against 125 total runners. Shea Bohan was the top individual for Marist, taking third with Maria Smith, Gianna Tedeschi, Denise Grohn and Emily Burns right behind her.
The women's race went off at 10:30 a.m. at "The Crossings" in Latham, New York. Today's distance was a 5k, with nine teams attending. These included Monmouth, RPI, Quinnipiac, Marist, Siena, Rider, Saint Rose, Niagara and Fairfield.
After winning the Marist Season Opener, the Red Fox women came to Latham to capture the Siena Cross Country Invitational title as well. Shea Bohan was the top finisher for the squad, running a personal best of 18:13.9 to take third. The rest of the squad provided a wealth of deep performances, each running a personal best or very close to it.
The women will have a couple weeks off before traveling to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to take part in Lehigh's prestigious Paul Short Run on September 29th.
