QUEENS, New York – Marist men's tennis dropped its first match of the season 7-0 to St. John's at Cunningham Park Sunday afternoon.
The men had a couple of close matches in the loss. Playing in the second singles spot,
Lars Schouten dropped the first set 7-5 but won the second one 7-5 to force the tie breaker set. He was bested by Dusan Vukicevic 10-6 in the final set. Chris Gladden picked up the first set win at 6-1 but fell in the next two sets 7-5 and 10-7 to Daniel Skripnik.
The Red Foxes will travel north to Siena to take part in the Siena Invitational on February 2. They are slated to play Bucknell at 12 pm.
