WAPPINGGERS FALLS, New York – Marist women's tennis dropped a hard fought match to Providence 4-3 at Cross Court Tennis Center. The Red Foxes fought to the very last set but ultimately did not come up victorious.

Marist started out strong with a pair of doubles wins.
Chloe Lant and Sophia Chavannia picked up the first win of the day with a 6-2 victory in the third spot.
Julia Gabay and
Sam Galu took an early lead in their match but Takenaka and Esptein came back to equalize. Gabay and Galu pulled away to earn a 7-5 win in the first doubles spot.

Madison Price played with ease in the second singles spot, taking down Satkowski 6-1, 6-0. Galu picked up the second singles win with a hard fought victory over Epstein 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. After dropping three singles matches, the final point came down to
Amy Galloway. Galloway battled hard in the sixth spot, but fell to Natalie Pitocco 4-3.

Marist will begin MAAC play on Saturday, March 23 at Niagara.
