POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist baseball (10-16, 1-2 MAAC) was defeated 10-2 by Albany (10-13, 2-4 America East) in their first home game on Tuesday night. Freshman
Zane Kmietek held the Great Danes to just two hits through five innings, but Albany had huge seventh and ninth innings to reach double-digit runs.

- Gene Napolitano got the ball rolling for Marist in the second inning with a RBI-single to right field. Randy Taveras was driven home.
- Niko Amory then doubled down the left field line to score Napolitano.
- The Red Foxes advanced men to second and third base in the third, fourth and sixth innings but were unable to convert and score.
- The Great Danes capitalized on an error and scored four runs in the seventh.
- Albany wracked up six more runs on six hits and an error in the ninth to jump out to a 10-2 lead.
- Marist put two men on base in the ninth but were unable to cut the deficit.
- In a career-high 5.0 innings, Zane Kmietek held Albany scoreless and scattered two hits while fanning three batters.
- Gene Napolitano went 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI, a double, two walks and one run scored.

The Red Foxes travel to West Long Branch, New Jersey for a three-game series with Monmouth (10-14-1, 2-1 MAAC) on April 6-7. The series-opening doubleheader begins on Saturday at noon.
