LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey - Marist baseball (25-23, 13-8 MAAC) won and lost one in the twinbill at Rider (16-34, 7-14 MAAC) to close out the series. The Broncs emerged victorious by a score of 5-1 in the first game, while the Red Foxes took the finale by a 3-1 advantage.

- Rider scored all five of their runs in the first inning off of a pair of walks, sacrifice-flies and a hit-by-pitch.
- In the fourth inning, Marist earned a run off of a Patrick Lightner RBI-single through the right side to drive in Frankie Gregoire.
- The Red Foxes put men on base in the fifth and seventh innings, but could not cut down on the lead any more.
- Robbie Armitage went 2-for-4 for the day.
- Nick Cantone tossed 3.1 shutout innings of relief with two strikeouts.
- Zane Kmietek followed him up with a hit-less 2.1 innings of work and three punch-outs.
- Marist recorded four hits and held Rider to one, but also committed two errors.
- The game remained scoreless until the fifth inning when Rider scored on an RBI-single by Sebastian Williamson.
- The Red Foxes answered in the sixth with an RBI-single from Robbie Armitage and a sacrifice-fly from Reece Armitage.
- Tyler Kapuscinski extended the lead to 3-1 in the seventh with another sacrifice-fly to drive in Brian Hart.
- Ryan Cardona closed out the game in the ninth for his fifth save of the season. Skyler Pichardo and Conor McNamara put on efficient displays in the previous eight innings of play.
- Anthony Lazar went an impressive 4-for-5 at the plate with a double and a run scored.
- Tyler Kapuscinski was strong with two hits in three at-bats along with an RBI and a run scored.
- Skyler Pichardo started and tossed 5.1 innings while scattering three hits and striking out five. He gave up the Broncs' only run.
- Conor McNamara allowed two hits but struck out five of the ten batters he faced in 2.2 innings of work.
Marist baseball closes out the regular season next weekend with a home-series against Siena (16-29, 10-9 MAAC). Game one will take place on Friday, May 17 at 3:30 p.m. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, May 18 beginning at noon, and will also honor the seniors for Senior Day.
