Women's Lacrosse Falls To No. 1 Fairfield In MAAC Semifinals

Samantha Mehalick and Hailey Wagner break records as comeback falls short.

FAIRFIELD, Connecticut - Hailey Wagner set the NCAA single-season record in draw controls, and Samantha Mehalick eclipsed the MAAC single-season mark for goals, but No. 5 Marist Women's Lacrosse couldn't overcome No. 1 Fairfield in an 18-14 defeat in the MAAC Semifinals at Rafferty Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

The Red Foxes end their season at 8-10 overall, with five MAAC wins in the regular season and postseason. The defending-champion Stags advance to their fourth MAAC Championship in five years.
