Marist Student-Athletes Enjoy Strong 2019 Spring Semester

21 Of 23 Teams Post GPA Over 3.0, 30 Student-Athletes Earn 4.0

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist student-athletes earned high marks in the classroom in the 2019 Spring semester:

The cumulative grade-point average for the Athletics Department was 3.24.
Of Marist's 23 varsity sports, 21 had a grade-point average of at least 3.0. Six had a GPA of at least 3.5.
The highest grade-point averages this past semester were earned by men's tennis (3.66) and women's lacrosse (3.61).
A total of 30 student-athletes had at 4.0 GPA.
72 percent of student-athletes earned a GPA of at least 3.0.
Six student-athletes (Brandi Coon, softball; Hailey Wagner, women's lacrosse; Andrew Burns, men's cross country/track & field; Hayley Collins, women's cross country/track & field; Michael Kennedy, men's cross country/track & field; Christopher Rivas, men's cross country/track & field) earned CoSIDA/Google Cloud Academic All-District honors.
Daniel Knoll of men's swimming & diving earned a Fulbright scholarship.
