POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Jocelyn Castro, a 2019 alumni of the Marist water polo program, has been hired as assistant coach for the Red Foxes. She will primarily work with centers while also being responsible for the day-to-day development of team culture.
Castro played a big part on last season's Marist squad, helping the team reach the MAAC Championship game and retain an ACWPC Top-25 ranking for the entire season. She tallied 20 goals, nine assists, nine drawn exclusions, eight steals and five field blocks to contribute to the Red Foxes' success. Marist compiled a 22-16 record overall, going 12-2 in the MAAC and earning wins over #19 San Diego State, #21 Cal-State Northridge and #19 San Jose State.
Prior to Marist, Castro was an ACWPC Division III Player of the Year and multiple-time First Team All-American at Pomona-Pitzer. In her senior season, she scored 60 goals for the Sagehens and led them to a 21-10 record.
