POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Men's cross country won the Marist Season Opener and started off the season strong on Senior Day. James Moehringer led the way with a personal best of 19:18.4 in the 6k.
 

HIGHLIGHTS

• Moehringer led a scoring squad of James Draney, Christopher Rivas, Brendan Dearie and Patrick Kutch to victory.
• Draney placed seventh with a personal record of 19:24.6.
• Rivas earned eighth in a time of 19:26.1.
• Freshman Brendan Dearie performed well in his first competition as a Red Fox, finishing ninth in 19:28.8.
• Patrick Kutch ran a time of 19:31.9 for 11th, over a minute faster than his previous personal best.

NOTES

• This marked the fourth year in a row that the men won the Marist Season Opener.
• The competition also marked the third consecutive sweep for both programs.

The cross country teams will head north for the Siena Invitational on Saturday, September 6.
