HOLMDEL, New Jersey - The men of Marist cross country emerged victorious at the Monmouth Henry Mercer Invitational, defeating seven opponents from the MAAC to earn their second win of the season. Freshman Brendan Dearie was the top Marist finisher at fourth place individually.
 

HIGHLIGHTS

• Dearie ran a personal best of 26:32.00 in the five-mile to finish fourth out of 145 total runners.
• James Draney placed ninth in a personal best of 26:43.84.
• Graham Strzelecki finished 13th in a personal record of 27:01.48.
• Alexander Hogue ran a season's best of 27:03.55 for 15th place overall.
• James Moehringer rounded out the scoring group with a season's best of 27:10.85 for 19th place.

NOTES

• Dearie has placed in the top ten of all three races this season.
• Both the men and women have won two of three meets they've attended.
• The men have earned at least two top-10 finishers in every competition.

UP NEXT

The Marist cross country squads prepare for the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh on October 5. This is the largest meet in the country annually, with over 40 teams in attendance.
