LOUDONVILLE, New York - Marist women's cross country stunned the field at the Siena Cross Country Invitational to win their second straight competition. The victory also marks the second consecutive year that the Red Fox women won both the Marist Season Opener and the Siena Invitational.
- The Marist women have won their first two meets of the season for two years in a row.
- The Red Foxes have placed at least five in the top ten of the 5k for two consecutive competitions.
- Gianna Tedeschi has earned a top-five finish at the Siena Cross Country Invitational for two years straight.
"We went into this meet with key points of emphasis and the women executed the game plan to perfection," said Associate Head Coach Chuck Williams. "We wanted to race better than last week and we did. Our women talked about how they were happy with our team performance, but not satisfied. We must continue to work hard every day and stay hungry, that's the only way we will achieve our ultimate goals."
Cross country travels to Holmdel Park in New Jersey for the Henry Mercer Monmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 21. This location will also serve as the location for the MAAC Championships in November.
