MONTREAL, Quebec - Water Polo Canada has announced the Senior National Team Talent Pool for the 2020-21 season. Two Red Foxes were selected to the pool, as water polo graduate Amanda Amorosa ('17) and current Red Fox
Myriam Lizotte will be representing Marist.Â
The SNTTP consists of the athletes eligible to represent Canada, demonstrating the potential to earn a position on Water Polo Canada's Senior National Team for activities within the 2020-2021 season. Changes to the athlete pool may be made at the discretion of the Head Coach of each of the men's and women's teams. This year, the talent pool consists of 40 student-athletes.Â
Amorosa was a team captain in 2017 and led the Red Foxes with 66 goals, 50 assists and 116 points. In her four years at Marist, Amorosa set the program records for goals with 293, assists with 175 and points with 468. She was named to the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference First Team in each of her four seasons and was also named MAAC Rookie of the Year in 2014.
Lizotte is entering her junior season with the Red Foxes, having had a solid two years so far in the red and white. Her best season came in 2019, when she scored a career-high 35 goals, to go along with 10 assists and 24 steals. For her career, Lizotte has amassed 58 points (47 goals, 11 assists), 33 steals, and five field goal blocks.Â
