WASHINGTON, D.C. - Marist baseball defeated George Washington in the tenth inning on Friday evening. The Red Foxes outlasted the Colonials for a winning tally of 12-8.
Robbie Armitage (2-for-2, 5 RBIs) and
Brian Hart (4-for-5, RBI) led Marist as seven different players earned RBIs.
Zane Kmietek picked up the win after tossing 2.0 innings with a strikeout and no earned runs.

- In his first at bat of the series, Robbie Armitage blasted a homer through left-center field to drive in Gene Napolitano and Tyler Kapuscinski. The junior highlighted a strong first inning where Alex Pansini went 1-2-3 on the rubber.
- The Colonials got on the board in the second with a two-out RBI-single by Ervin Bogan.
- George Washington had a big third inning to take a 4-3 lead, and then followed it up with a strong fourth to jump ahead 6-3.
- Robbie Armitage continued his quality game in the fifth with a sacrifice fly to once again score Kapuscinski.
- The Red Foxes tied the game in the seventh. Brian Hart scored on a sac-bunt from Gene Napolitano, and then Robbie Armitage doubled to drive in Tyler Kapuscinski for the third time in the game.
- Hart came up big in the eighth with an RBI-double, driving in Colin Mackle to put Marist in the lead 7-6.
- George Washington's Noah Levin responded in the bottom of the inning with a two-run single to put the Colonials back in the lead.
- Niko Amory walked in a run in the ninth to erase the Colonials' lead and send the game to extra innings.
- In the tenth, Hart doubled, stole third and then reached home on a wild pitch to put the Red Foxes up 9-8.
- The Red Foxes proceeded to walk in three more runs to build the 12-8 lead that would stand as the final score. Skyler Pichardo went 1-2-3 on the mound to close out the game.
- Robbie Armitage led the hitters with two hits, five RBIs, a homer, a double and two runs scored.
- Brian Hart was strong once again with four hits, an RBI, a double, a stolen base and two runs scored.
- In just 1.2 innings, Will Van Beusekom struck out all five batters he faced.
- Zane Kmietek earned the win in 2.0 innings of work with a strikeout, three hits and no earned runs.
- The Red Foxes were walked 14 times, their most walks in a game since the 27-6 win over Saint Peter's on April 29, 2017.
- In comparison, the Colonials only picked up five walks.
